​This publication is the accessible culmination of Vanhecke's doctorate in the arts and is aimed at readers interested in innovative artistic practices as well as a changing view of humanity. The book requires no specialized prior knowledge, but rather attention—and above all, a willingness to listen. By connecting text, images, and sound fragments, it demonstrates how artistic research today can function as a critical, secular, and human-centered form of knowledge production, in which the body is not reduced to an object but taken seriously as a source of experience and meaning.
